U2 will be on the Letterman show as his house band for one week. It will be the longest stay for a musical guest on the show. U2's slot is to promote its new album "No Line On the Horizon", which is due on March 2nd.

So I finally watched The Wrestler...I can understand the rage behind this movie now. I was so intrigued by Mickey Rourke and his role especially his appearance. I can't believe that he really looks that way in real life unlike those Eddie Murphy movies where he has to sit in 4 hours of music and 10 hours in a fat suit. You can't get his look without hard work...years and years of drinking and plastic surgery...

The new Banksy shows a boy spraying a flock pattern and will be displayed at Selfridges department store in London before the 26 February auction. The art piece will raise funds for The Prince's Trust which helps young people receive training and jobs. Banksy is the shit.

Rihanna is out of commission for now and has cancelled one of her tour dates. So far no pictures have surfaced of the bruised pop singer. However everyone has been saying that her attack was so brutal that she might require plastic surgery. When police arrived at the scene, Rihanna could not open her eyes because they were swollen shut.

New York Daily News is reporting that the attack was caused by a "booty call" text. "Booty call" texts are usually when a girl or guy texts another to imply that the other come over to fool around and engage in sexual activity:

"He got a booty call. He got a text. Rihanna saw it and she got upset. They started to argue. She got out of the car. He wanted her to get back in, so he grabbed her," the industry source said. "She pulled away. That's when she's told people he hit her."

Ok Magazine is saying that the "booty call" text may have come from Paris Hilton:

.....at the Verizon & Blackberry Storm Grammy party [eds. note: on February 6th] at Boulevard 3, where Chris chatted up Paris Hilton while Rihanna performed. TV Guide was the first to report that Sheridan will leave ABC's popular TV series Desperate Housewives. ABC did not say how she will leave the show but we all know that when a part is eliminated the actor is whored in someway or another. Maybe Sheridan will become a whore and run off with a pack of Suicide Girls. More likely, however, is that her crazy, drug dependent, manipulating husband will have something to do with her end at Wisteria Lane.

The news Perezhilton wanted to share with everyone is that he will be on Britney's tour, but he is not disclosing if he is performing or working as a stagehand [unlikely]...being a party of the sideshow [more likely]. Perez will share what he will be doing on the tour little by little this week. The number he posted is not really his phone number but some SayNow service that you can subscribe to.

This was probably a good publicity move on Brit's part, since not a lot of people check on the Brit's boring bloggers on her website anyway. I am guessing he will be blogging from the tour.

Both Rihanna and Chris Brown cancelled their performances at the Grammy's because it was reported that Rihanna was beaten up by Chris Brown in the early morning hours on Sunday morning. Either Rihanna or someone in the area who heard the screams called the police and ran from Brown's rented silver Lamborghini. Brown had the keys with him, while Rihanna stood on the side of the road beaten up.

Sources say that Rihanna had contusions on both sides of her face, her lip was split, and her nose was bloody. She also had bite marks. Rihanna did not want Chris Brown to be criminally punished and stopped participating with the police [like most victims of abuse]. Chris Brown is not off the hook though because when the police arrived she did identify Chris Brown as the alleged assault.

Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez told ESPN's Peter Gammons in an exclusive interview in Miami Beach, Fla., "I did use a banned substance. And for that I am very sorry and deeply regretful." Rodriguez used PED [performing enhancing drugs] during a three year period beginning in 2001 while he was playing with the Texas Rangers. Rodriguez stopped using in 2003 when he incurred a neck injury and because Major League Baseball started testing to find out if it was necessary to test players during that year. Rodriguez said:

"Again, it was such a loosey-goosey era. I'm guilty for a lot of things. I'm guilty for being negligent, naive, not asking all the right questions. And to be quite honest, I don't know exactly what substance I was guilty of using.

There's many things that you can take that are banned substances. I mean, there's things that have been removed from GNC today that would trigger a positive test.

Rodriguez's admission comes 48 hours after Sports Illustrated came out with a list of 104 players who tested positive for using PED. Alex said that when he was signed to the Rangers, it was a $252 million dollar contract, and he felt extreme pressure to play really well. He needed something to "give him a push."

Rodriguez said that when he joined the New York Yankees in 2004, his years with the Yankees:

"...have been clean. I've played the best baseball of my career since. I've won two MVPs since and I've never felt better in my career. Of that I'm very proud of."

Jennifer Hudson took the first Grammy of the evening for Best R&B album. In addition Coldplay won song of the year and best rock album. Stevie Wonder played with the Jonas Brothers in a medley ending with Wonder's "Superstition"...if only the great Stevie Wonder could see what he was getting into with that medley.

Over 100 Grammy's are given away before the televised broadcast. This makes complete sense when I hear that a singer was Grammy nominated or won an award and I'm like "I don't remember seeing them win that on TV." Early winners were George Carlin for best comedy album "It's Bad for Ya," a recording of his last HBO special and Juno for its compilation soundtrack. Lil-Wayne leads everyone with 8 nominations.

I wonder how many of the Grammy winners will be celebrating...on a boat...cheesy but funny....it's another advertising plug by SNL disguised as a skit for T-Pain's real single:

14-year-old Dakota Fanning seems to have an urgent reason behind securing a role in Twilight two. The tween star is determined to win over 22-year-old Twilight star Robert Pattinson. A source to Star said that:

Rich girl Gwen Stefani will have to spend more money on her company researching the guidelines for her Harajuku children's clothing. Her Harajuku drawstring jackets for children have been recalled because the drawstring poses as a strangulation hazard to children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on their website.

Hazard: The jackets have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children.
